Firewise USA

There are three Firewise USA communities in Santa Rosa:  Fountaingrove II (since 2009), Oakmont Village (since 2018) and Bennett Ridge (since 2019).

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is a global self-funded nonprofit organization, established in 1896, devoted to eliminating death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical and related hazards. Their mission: To help save lives and reduce loss with information, knowledge, and passion.

The Firewise Communities program  encourages local solutions for wildfire safety by involving homeowners, community leaders, planners, developers, firefighters, and others in the effort to protect people and property from wildfire risks.

Each Firewise USA site is required to annually invest in stipulated volunteer hours and/or vendor expenditures to promote fire safety, plus conduct an annual event that focuses on education of fire safety to its community members.
